How it works
From invisible to recommended, in five steps
Surfaced AI is an AI Visibility Audit Platform. You give it a URL; it reads the page the way an AI answer engine would, scores what it finds, and generates the assets that close the gaps. No account is needed to start.
1. The scan
We fetch your page server-side, plus robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and llms.txt if they exist. Everything is read from the raw server response — the same thing a crawler that does not execute JavaScript would see.
From that we extract 32 signals: headings, metadata, structured data, link structure, proof language, alt-text coverage, crawler rules, and more.
2. The score
Each of the 32 checks passes or fails. They roll up into four weighted pillars — Technical Visibility (20%), Structural Understanding (30%), Answer Selection (30%), and Authority Signals (20%) — producing a single 0–100 number.
The report shows every check, so you can see exactly which points are missing rather than trusting a black box. The full weighting is documented on the methodology page.
3. The fixes
This is where an audit stops and Surfaced keeps going. From your actual page copy we generate six paste-ready assets: a rewritten headline, an FAQ block with FAQPage schema, a founder bio with Person markup, a testimonial section with Review markup, a comparison page outline, and an llms.txt file.
They are written against your real positioning, not filled into a generic template. Where a value is not knowable from your page, you get an obvious placeholder to complete rather than an invented fact.
5. Rescan
Ship a fix, rescan, and confirm the specific checks you targeted actually flipped. Pro keeps your history so you can watch the pillar breakdown move over time instead of guessing whether a change helped.
What it will not do
It will not guarantee that any assistant names you — those are third-party systems that change on their own schedule. It does not measure product quality, brand reputation, or revenue. And it will not fix a positioning problem you have not decided the answer to: the tool can tell you the category statement is missing, but you choose what it says.
