Shipping fast and staying invisible: the AI-builder trap
AI builders produce good-looking sites with a predictable set of visibility holes, because nobody prompted for them.
Building a polished marketing site now takes an afternoon. That is genuinely good, and it has created a specific failure mode: sites that look finished and are unreadable to machines.
Three gaps show up repeatedly. Generated copy defaults to polished slogans rather than category statements. Structured data is absent unless explicitly requested. And several builders ship single-page-app output where the core copy is not in the initial HTML at all.
None of these are visible in a browser. The site loads, looks sharp, and converts the traffic it gets — while returning almost nothing to a crawler that does not execute JavaScript.
The checks are quick. View the raw HTML response rather than the rendered DOM and confirm your headline is actually in it. Then ask your builder explicitly for a category sentence, FAQ schema, and Organization markup.
The tooling is not the problem. It does what you ask — and almost nobody thinks to ask for the things that make a site legible to an answer engine.
