The thirty-second test your homepage is probably failing
If a stranger cannot say what you do after half a minute, no assistant can either.
Show your homepage to someone who has never heard of you, give them thirty seconds, then ask three questions: what is it, who is it for, and what changes if they use it.
Most sites fail on the first question. The headline is a slogan — "Ship faster", "Growth, simplified" — that reads well and classifies nothing. A human recovers by scrolling. An assistant classifying your page does not.
The fix is a single sentence that names the category, the buyer, and the outcome. "Surfaced AI is an AI visibility audit tool for solo founders" is unglamorous and enormously more useful than any slogan.
You do not have to choose between the two. Keep the slogan as the visual headline if it matters to your brand, and put the plain sentence immediately beneath it where both humans and machines will read it.
Then propagate it: title tag, meta description, llms.txt, social profiles. Saying the same thing in the same words everywhere is what makes it stick.
