Why ChatGPT does not recommend you (and what actually fixes it)

It is almost never product quality. It is that the model cannot describe you confidently enough to take the risk.

When an assistant answers "what is a good tool for X", it is not ranking products by quality. It is naming the ones it can describe in a sentence without guessing.

That reframes the problem. You are not competing on features; you are competing on legibility. A product the model can classify, summarise, and back with some evidence is safe to mention. One it cannot is a risk, so it gets skipped silently.

The three traits shared by products that do get named: an explicit category statement on the homepage, content shaped like answers rather than marketing, and proof a model can point at — named customers, independent coverage, review markup.

The fix order matters. Start with the category sentence, because everything downstream depends on the model knowing what you are. Then publish answer-shaped content. Then collect proof. Doing that in reverse produces very little.

A useful test costs nothing: paste your homepage copy into any assistant and ask what the product is and who it is for. The gap between that answer and your intended positioning is your work queue.
