My competitors appear in Perplexity but I do not. Why?
Usually because they have a page that answers the exact question and you do not — or because your pages cannot be fetched.
Check access first: confirm PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User are not blocked in robots.txt and not being rejected by a firewall or bot filter.
Then compare content shape rather than volume. Open the answer, look at which of their pages was cited, and check whether you have an equivalent page that answers that same question directly.
Frequently the answer is that they have a dedicated page for the question and you have a paragraph inside a longer post. Dedicated pages win.
If you do have an equivalent page, make it more specific — add the concrete numbers, the caveats, and the details their version leaves out.
