Why is Perplexity not citing my website?

Check access first. Perplexity uses PerplexityBot for indexing and Perplexity-User for live fetches. Blocking either — directly or via a firewall rule that rejects unfamiliar user agents — removes you from consideration.

If access is fine, the issue is usually format. Content written as narrative marketing copy rarely contains a self-contained passage that answers a specific question. Restructure around questions and lead with the answer.

Depth helps too. A page that covers one topic thoroughly tends to out-cite a page that mentions ten topics briefly.

Finally, check you are actually competing on something. If your pages only restate what every competitor says, there is no reason to cite you over them.
