Does ChatGPT treat product pages differently from content pages?

Yes — product pages are judged on whether the offer is stated explicitly, not on how persuasive the copy is.

For a product page, an assistant is trying to extract facts: what it is, who it is for, what it costs, and what it includes. Persuasive copy that avoids stating those plainly performs badly.

Pricing is the most common gap. "Contact us for pricing" removes a fact the assistant needs, so it will often describe a competitor whose pricing is public instead.

Product and Offer schema help by stating those facts in a machine-readable form. So does a plain features list that does not depend on imagery to make sense.

Content pages are judged differently — there the question is whether a passage answers something completely enough to quote.
