What does the AI Visibility Score actually measure?
How legible your site is to AI answer engines — not your product quality, traffic, or revenue.
The score is a 0–100 summary of 32 checks across four weighted pillars: Technical Visibility (20%), Structural Understanding (30%), Answer Selection (30%), and Authority Signals (20%).
Each check is binary — it passes or it does not — and a pillar's share of the score is the proportion of its checks that pass, multiplied by its weight. We chose binary checks so the number is reproducible and explainable.
It measures discoverability signals only. A strong product with a poorly structured site scores low; a mediocre product with a well-structured site scores high. Discoverability is necessary, not sufficient.
It is also not a prediction. It does not forecast traffic, revenue, or whether a specific assistant will name you tomorrow.
